First Visit To An Ocularist

We welcome you to the Prosthetic Eye Institute.

If this is your first experience with an Ocularist (someone who fits and custom manufactures artificial eyes), SNG Prosthetic Eye Institute was founded in 1989 by Scott Garonzik and has become one of the leading centers in Florida for custom artificial eye care. We are very well aware of what you may be feeling. We assure you that that we will do everything we can to make you feel as comfortable as possible. We will fully explain everything we do and will happily answer any questions you may have.

We meet with approximately 150 clients weekly. All of them wear at least one prosthesis while some require two. If you would like to talk to one of our clients, we will be happy to match you up with someone whose situation is similar to yours. We feel this is the best way possible to make your initial adjustment period less stressful.

In addition, we have received 2 patents which should be commercialized in the next year.

Look for the use of magnets in the future to improve prosthetic eye movement, without complications currently experienced in the present systems. We have done the studies on many patients and we are looking forward to bringing this technology to the public.

Magnets were used over 50 years ago, without success, but with the new integrated implants, this should be the future in artificial eye technology. We hold the patents and we are negotiating to make these systems available as soon as possible.

When available, we will be happy to schedule patients to be fit with the system as well as inform you where you can have the surgical process done. In addition, we will be training other Ocularists who want to learn the process.
